Sinthan Top sits at approximately 3,748 metres in the Pir Panjal range of South Kashmir — a high mountain pass that connects the Anantnag district of the Kashmir Valley to Kishtwar district and the Chenab catchment beyond. The road to the top is one of the more dramatic drives in the entire region. Snow sits on both sides of the road well into June in most years and the pass itself gives a view across two completely different landscapes — the Kashmir Valley side green and terraced below, the Kishtwar side dropping into a harder, more angular terrain where the vegetation changes abruptly. Bon Voyagers handles the pickup from Srinagar Airport and covers four nights with a private high-clearance Sumo or Tata Safari class vehicle throughout. Day 2 moves south to Pahalgam in the Lidder Valley. Day 3 is the Sinthan Top crossing — the drive from Pahalgam up through Anantnag, over the pass and down to Daksum forest on the southern descent. Day 4 returns from Daksum through the Anantnag belt and back to Srinagar via the Aharbal waterfall on the Kulgam side. No Protected Area Permit is required for this route.
