Enduring 4 Days Nongriat Double Decker Trek | Humbling

Overview for Nongriat Double Decker Root Bridge Trek
Three thousand five hundred stone steps carved into the hillside below Tyrna village is a number that sounds interesting until you are standing at the top looking down, and then it changes. The double-decker bridge at the bottom of those steps is what the Khasi people grew across the Umshiang stream over multiple generations – two bridges stacked one above the other, trained from Ficus elastica roots, strong enough to take a full group without giving. The nongriat double decker root bridge trek takes you through War-Khasi villages the road cannot reach.
Bon handles the vehicle from Guwahati, the confirmed hotel in Cherrapunji and the daily breakfast on CP basis. Day 2 is kept fully open for the trek – the drive to Tyrna, the descent, the bridge, the natural pool and the climb back up. Day 3 stays vehicle-side and works through Cherrapunji’s plateau edge: Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave and the Seven Sisters Falls viewpoint before the evening settles. Day 4 returns to Guwahati.
