Thorough 5 Days Lum Sohpetbneng Sacred Hill | Enveloping

Overview for Lum Sohpetbneng Sacred Hill
The Khasi oral tradition holds that a golden ladder once stood at a specific hill in the East Khasi Hills connecting the living world to the Creator. The hill is Lum Sohpetbneng – Sohpetbneng meaning Navel of Heaven in Khasi, the point where the cord between earth and the divine was once attached. Sixteen Khasi families are said to have descended to the earth from this hill when the connection still existed. The ladder is gone from the tradition’s account but the hill remains, and the lum sohpetbneng sacred hill package is built around arriving at a place that carries that specific weight.
Bon handles the vehicle from Guwahati Airport or Railway Station with Shillong as the four-night base throughout. Day 2 goes to the sacred hill in the morning and the Don Bosco Museum in the afternoon for the cultural frame the hill requires. Day 3 moves to Smit village for the Khasi heartland. Day 4 closes the circuit at Mawphlang Sacred Forest and Laitlum Canyon. Day 5 returns to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Daily breakfast on CP basis throughout.
