The Myntdu River runs through the Jaintia Hills and the dam built across it at Leshka sits at the end of a road that the landscape designed rather than any engineer. The approach from Jowai drops through a series of zig-zag bends, each turn opening a different elevation of the same hill system before the reservoir appears below the road with surrounding forest intact on every bank. Day 3 gives the group Jarain Pitcher Plant Lake, a natural lake where pitcher plants grow at the water’s edge without a farm arrangement around them.
