Overview for Rapleng Canyon Meghalaya

Laitlum Canyon sits 25 kilometres from Shillong and has its own vehicle queue by mid-morning on most weekends. Rapleng Canyon sits 35 kilometres from Shillong in the opposite direction and the group that arrives at the rim finds the same East Khasi Hills geometry – cliffs dropping into valley floor, the meadow simply ending at an edge – without the queue. A natural swimming pool sits at the base of the rapleng canyon meghalaya approach trail. The village around it carries the daily life of a Khasi community that has not yet organised itself around visitors.

Bon handles the vehicle from Guwahati Airport or Railway Station with Shillong as Night 1. Day 2 drives to Rapleng for the canyon, the pool and the village with an overnight at a local homestay. Day 3 returns through Umiam Lake before closing at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Daily breakfast on CP basis throughout.
